Careers Fairs

How it works at DG

We will be attending careers fairs to tell you all about our careers programme and to meet with students. We, and other firms, will often bring Trainees with us to meet students so you can ask them questions and advice.

Why bother?

Although a careers fair may not sound like the most fun way to spend your time you may be surprised by how much you can learn and find out by attending one. It is a great opportunity to meet recruiters and market yourself as keen and enthusiastic. It is worth bearing in mind that sometimes firms take notes on ‘good students’ so it is important to make a good impression.

It is a chance for you to find out more about the firm, placements, training contracts and tips on the application process for later on.

Our advice

Research firms who are going and make notes on those of particular interest to you – find those first on the day so you don’t waste time looking at firms that aren’t suitable for you.

Dress smartly to look the part and ask questions in a confident manner – remember there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Look out for us

We will be attending the following :

  • 16th November 11am-3pm – The University of Bolton Career & Opportunities Fair 2011
  • 30th November 1pm-4pm – The University of Salford Law Recruitment Fair 2011
  • 22nd November 12pm-4pm – Manchester Law Fair 2011
  • 7th February TBA – Edge Hill University Faculty of Arts & Science Fair 2012

Presentations

Not only will we be attending careers fairs but we will also be visiting universities to give presentations to students. These are another great way to find out more about law firms and to meet potential employers.
