The Duncan Gibbins Team
Core Team
Nicola Hamblett
I began my studies at Lancaster University where I completed a qualifying ‘Bachelor of Laws’ degree before embarking on the Corporate Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London gaining a Post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice .
I then moved to Canada where I lived and worked in Toronto before returning to the United Kingdom, joining Duncan Gibbins Solicitors in 2010 as part of their first response team before advancing to issuing all court proceedings within the firm. I am now a qualified Solicitor gaining experience working on both fast-track and complex multi-track cases.
Personal/Career Highlight
A personal highlight would have to be dancing in the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002.
My career highlight was taking part in the world’s largest international law moot court competition where I ranked 4th in the United Kingdom for my written pleadings, and my team ranked 6th overall in the final competition. As a result of my passion for the advocacy aspect of legal work I have since obtained my ‘Higher Rights of Audience’ and I am aiming to become a Solicitor Advocate by April 2013.
Best Part of the Job
I think the best part of the job is making a difference to our client’s quality of life by achieving the best possible settlement.
Hobbies
I like to keep fit by dancing, attending the gym and taking part in British Military Fitness on a regular basis. I also like to raise money for charity by taking part in runs, organising charity events and abseiling down Liverpool Cathedral!
Alternative Career
I have a corporate background and an avid interest in business and commerce, my alternative career path would involve becoming a business consultant.
