DG People
Duncan Gibbins: People
The continued dedication and professionalism of our solicitors and support staff ensures that we are able to provide the best possible service for our clients.
Learning and Development
We invest time and resources in the members of our team and encourage employees to take on extra responsibility where appropriate; with a view to promoting staff from within the firm.
There is an open-door policy in operation at Duncan Gibbins Solicitors. All senior members of staff, including partners, are approachable and willing to provide advice and guidance to junior members of our team.
We believe this friendly working environment encourages learning and development which can help our solicitors on their journey to becoming experts in their field.
It’s not all about work though; regular social and charity events help to build team spirit while raising money for charities in the Merseyside area. Why not take a look at what some of our staff have to say about working at Duncan Gibbins Solicitors………
Our People
Duncan Gibbins: Principal Partner
“For me, Duncan Gibbins Solicitors has always been about the people. Looking after the needs of our clients and members of staff is the priority as far as management is concerned.
“If our team members are motivated and happy in their work it follows that our clients will receive the best possible legal service. We aim to recruit the very best talent and want our employees to grow alongside the firm.”
Our Loyalty
Dorothy Sands: Receptionist
“I was one of the first members of staff to join Duncan Gibbins and have watched the firm go from strength to strength in the last few years. Despite the increase in size every member of staff is still treated as an individual, making it a pleasure to come into work in the morning.”
Our Open Door Policy
Samuel Harland: Trainee Solicitor
“From the very beginning of my time at Duncan Gibbins I was given lots of responsibility and hands-on experience, as a result when I was given my own caseload of personal injury files I was able to work with minimal supervision.
“The open-door policy of advice and guidance allows me to approach a senior solicitor if I do have any queries regarding points of law, or when dealing with a particularly complex legal issue.”
Our Flexible Approach
Sarah Healey: Legal Assistant
“If you are completing your legal studies the firm are very accommodating; allowing time off to attend exams or for intensive revision periods.
“I am completing the Legal Practice Course part-time and Duncan Gibbins have allowed me to work a four day week so that I can complete my studies while at the same time gaining practical legal experience.”
Our Promotion Policy
Daniel Taylor: Operations Manager
“When a position becomes available we will always look to promote from within Duncan Gibbins rather than looking outside of the practice. It provides a great incentive for current members of staff by displaying that their hard work and dedication is recognised and rewarded.
“I can speak from personal experience; having joined the firm as a legal assistant I am now employed as the operations manager, being responsible for recruitment and the supervision of junior solicitors within the firm.”
Our Commitment to Doing Things Properly
Sarah Jarvis: Coordination Manager
“We are currently on our way to achieving ‘Investors in People’ status but it is not just about the basics of regular appraisals, training courses and the implementation of an equality and diversity programme. At Duncan Gibbins we will do all that we can to ensure that our members of staff are happy in their professional life.
“We have invited pension providers into the office to provide information and assistance with regards to saving for the future, as well as providing free consultations with a personal trainer to make sure our entire workforce are fighting fit!”
Our Social Life
Nicola Hamblett: Trainee Solicitor
“I think the excellent working environment in the office is testament to the many social events that take place in and out of work. We were recently treated to a night at the comedy store to celebrate the firm’s 5th birthday and the Christmas night out is something that everyone looks forward to.
“The firm likes to take part in lots of charity events throughout the year, which is a great opportunity to raise plenty of money for charity as well as providing team building opportunities.
“Recently we have walked to the top of Snowdon, abseiled down the side of Liverpool Cathedral to raise money for Zoe’s Place, a local baby hospice, and even had a charity Wii tennis tournament in the office during Wimbledon!”
