Graduate Website Designer/Developer Vacancy

We are looking to recruit a graduate web designer/developer to work within the marketing department to provide support and assistance to our senior web designer.

As part of our marketing team you will be responsible for improving the design of our current website, updating the site with new content drafted by our marketing team and helping to increase our performance in the search rankings using SEO techniques. You will also assist with creative projects on a number of other websites developing user interfaces and banner advertisements.

Although you will take direction from other members of the marketing team, we will expect the right candidate to be able to work with autonomy.

The successful candidate will benefit from working in an environment where training, development and internal progression are all encouraged.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Have completed a relevant degree or comparable higher education course in digital design.
  • Have a portfolio of web design work which has been completed as part of your course or in your own time.
  • Fluent user of Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe Products.
  • Have an awareness of HTML/HTML5/CSS and web standards.
  • Javascript – including exposure to client-side libraries such as jQuery, Mootools, etc (Desirable)
  • Experience of using CMS platforms (Desirable)
  • Experience with Social Media networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Experience with SEO (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of development of online/offline marketing materials such as PDF brochures and Print.
  • Be organised, self-motivated and ambitious with a desire to design creative brand-oriented, yet commercially focused websites with a view to beginning a career in web design.
