I joined Duncan Gibbins in May 2011 as part of the admin team.
Personal/Career Highlight
My personal highlight was winning a literature award with the Liverpool Athenaeum. The competition ran throughout the North West of England; as the winner I was appointed the writer-in-residence at the Liverpool Athenaeum as well as winning a secondment to write for the Liverpool Daily Post.
My career highlight was either achieving a first class honours degree at university or giving a talk at a language acquisition conference; my research was subject to peer review and received a positive reception in the field.
The Best Part of the Job
The best part of working for Duncan Gibbins has got to be the people. I’ve never worked in such a friendly and vibrant environment; it keeps me motivated and means I’m always looking forward to coming into work – even on Monday mornings!
Hobbies/Interests
I’m a keen squash player and play several times a week, including for a ladies team. I also enjoy reading and visiting the cinema, and spending time with my family and friends.
Alternative Career
If I had taken a different study and career path I would have been a journalist or a novelist.
