The Duncan Gibbins Team
Trainee Solicitors & First Response Team
Lauren Roberts
I joined Duncan Gibbins Solicitors during the second year of my law degree at the University of Chester. This was part of a five-week ‘work based learning’ programme. I was offered a part-time job whilst I completed my degree. I am now completing my Legal Practice Course part-time at the College of Law Chester and will start my training contract in October.
Personal/Career Highlight
A highlight of my academic career was participating in a major mooting competition and coming within the top eight teams of the county.
Best Thing about the job
The best thing about working at Duncan Gibbins Solicitors is being rewarded for our hard work. We often get taken on nights out and just a few of our other treats include bowling, go karting and an evening at a comedy club.
Hobbies/Interests
I really enjoy reading – my favourite book is Great Expectations and I am currently reading The Canterbury Tales. My other hobbies include shopping and going out with friends.
Alternative Career
If I was not training to be a solicitor, I’d love to be a makeup artist or set up my own jewellery store. Although it would be fun to be a personal shopper and spend other people’s money for them!
