What is a Duncan Gibbins Scholarship?
A Duncan Gibbins Scholarship is an award given to students who have excelled academically and aims to provide the experience and vocational skills needed to give that person the “edge” over other candidates in the competitive business of obtaining a training contract. A Duncan Gibbins Scholarship includes:
- Small cash prize (depending upon the reason for the award);
- Certificate of Achievement and recognition via our website;
- One Week voluntary placement to be taken when you are available;
- “Fast-track” through our application process guaranteeing an interview during our next intake of Future Trainees.
How Will A Duncan Gibbins Scholarship Help Me To Find A Training Contract?
There are many different sets of criteria law firms apply to their recruitment process. However, whilst there are a wide variety of methods employed, most firms are looking for the same attributes within their candidates: knowledge, skills and desire.
A Duncan Gibbins Scholarship acknowledges those students who have demonstrated high aptitude within one (or more!) of these fields. We then provide as much assistance as possible to ensure that you are able to demonstrate that not only do you have those skills, but you have also made use of them in a law practice setting.
Although we are specialists within personal injury, we believe that many of the skills all law firms look for within a candidate are transferable. Don’t discount experience within a personal injury firm if you seek a career in a different field!
